MBTI Cafe is a conversational MBTI exploration experience. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in the chat (e.g., passwords, financial details, government IDs, or medical records).

Information we collect

  • Google Sign-In data: When you sign in, we receive basic profile information from Google (typically your name, email address, and profile image) to authenticate you and associate your chat history with your account.
  • Chat content: Messages you send and the AI responses are stored so you can view your conversation history.
  • Rate limiting data: We store counters linked to your account (by email identifier) to prevent abuse and keep the service available to everyone.
  • Local device storage: We may store small settings in your browser (e.g., the language you selected during login) using local storage.

How we use your information

  • Provide authentication and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Generate AI responses and deliver the chat experience.
  • Save and show your chat history across sessions.
  • Enforce fair-usage limits (rate limiting).
  • Maintain and improve reliability (e.g., debugging errors and performance issues).

AI processing (OpenRouter / Gemini)

To respond to your messages, MBTI Cafe sends your message and relevant conversation context to our AI provider, OpenRouter (which routes requests to models such as Google Gemini 3 Flash Preview).

The AI provider processes this content to generate responses. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.

Where data is stored

MBTI Cafe stores account and conversation data in Cloudflare D1 (a managed SQLite database).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the service:

  • Google: for sign-in authentication.
  • OpenRouter: to generate AI responses (chat content and context are sent).
  • Cloudflare: for hosting and database storage.

Data retention & deletion

  • Conversation history: Stored to provide continuity across sessions.
  • “Delete chat history”: Removes your current conversation from the active view.

Cookies

We use cookies required for authentication (session management via NextAuth). These cookies are necessary for the app to function.
